O professor e historiador canoense, Israel Boff, tem trabalhado, ao longo de sua carreira, pela recupera\u00e7\u00e3o e preserva\u00e7\u00e3o da mem\u00f3ria da cidade. Entusiasta, ele descreve minuciosamente\u00a0 suas descobertas sobre o rico passado hist\u00f3rico de Canoas. Sua obra mais recente \u00e9 o livro \u201cIgreja Matriz S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds Gonzaga, 100 anos de hist\u00f3ria, Centen\u00e1rio da Par\u00f3quia\u201d, que ser\u00e1 lan\u00e7ado oficialmente no dia 10 de junho, na Feira do Livro de Canoas.<\/p>\n

\u201cTenho uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o muito estreita com a cidade. Por conta disso sempre me interessei por esse resgate hist\u00f3rico. Al\u00e9m disso, notei que havia informa\u00e7\u00f5es contradit\u00f3rias em alguns registros do munic\u00edpio e resolvi pesquisar de forma mais aprofundada e t\u00e9cnica\u201d, conta Israel. Diante desse interesse pela mem\u00f3ria canoense, Boff foi contatado por representantes da Par\u00f3quia S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds, para que fosse elaborado um livro sobre sua hist\u00f3ria.<\/p>\n

Entre os pontos de destaque, relatados no livro, est\u00e3o documentos que identificam as datas espec\u00edficas de quando a par\u00f3quia iniciou suas atividades, assim como o registro do antigo templo, que foi demolido. Outro detalhe \u00e9 o achado de documentos que atestam sobre o padroeiro da par\u00f3quia, quest\u00e3o que ainda gerava d\u00favidas entre os fieis.<\/p>\n

\u201cConseguimos por no papel e evidenciar fatos que eram de conhecimento geral, mas sem tantos detalhes ou aprofundamento\u201d, conta Boff. Ele teve a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o de estagi\u00e1rios do curso de hist\u00f3ria da Ulbra e tamb\u00e9m de uma arquivista que reorganizou e classificou os registros dispon\u00edveis na par\u00f3quia.<\/p>\n

O livro conta com relatos do historiador e de mais colaboradores, que contam diversos aspectos e contextos da hist\u00f3ria da par\u00f3quia e, consequentemente, dos prim\u00f3rdios de Canoas. \u201cFoi um trabalho apaixonante.
