No dia 30 de abril, o Minist\u00e9rio da Educa\u00e7\u00e3o (MEC) anunciou o corte de verbas de 30% nas universidades e institutos federais. Entre eles, o Campus da cidade, com 950 estudantes do Ensino M\u00e9dio e Superior, que correm o risco de ficar sem aulas, e pelo menos uma dezena de funcion\u00e1rios ser\u00e3o dispensados, mantendo-se apenas a seguran\u00e7a armada por quest\u00e3o patrimonial.<\/p>\n

“Se n\u00e3o tivermos libera\u00e7\u00e3o de verbas or\u00e7ament\u00e1rias, n\u00e3o ter\u00e1 como manter aberto. Vamos empenhar tudo que temos e manter at\u00e9 setembro.”, afirma o professor e coordenador de ensino, Eduardo Pompermayer. Com o chamado contingenciamento de verbas, a institui\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o ter\u00e1 como pagar contas b\u00e1sicas de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o e saneamento b\u00e1sico. Cortes j\u00e1 foram feitos, como, por exemplo, os cursos de capacita\u00e7\u00f5es para servidores, eventos e merenda escolar para estudantes (o que \u00e9 obrigat\u00f3rio para o ensino m\u00e9dio).<\/p>\n

O IFRS \u00e9 uma institui\u00e7\u00e3o federal de ensino p\u00fablico e gratuito, especializada na oferta de educa\u00e7\u00e3o profissional e tecnol\u00f3gica. Desde 2010, o campus Canoas oferta vagas para estudantes ingressarem por meio de processo seletivo para cursos t\u00e9cnicos de n\u00edvel m\u00e9dio, EJA e gradua\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Protestos<\/h6>\n

No dia 13 de maio, estudantes realizaram uma manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o contra os cortes no cal\u00e7ad\u00e3o de Canoas, com exposi\u00e7\u00e3o de trabalhos cient\u00edficos, projetos, livros produzidos por eles e distribui\u00e7\u00e3o de folders dos cursos ofertados na institui\u00e7\u00e3o. “Nesse dia conversamos com muitas pessoas que nem conheciam o IFRS, mas tivemos muito apoio. Tinha gente querendo ajudar financeiramente para manter as portas abertas”, diz Milena Fontana, estudante de Matem\u00e1tica. A aluna escreveu uma carta sobre os cortes, e fechamento do campus, que foi lida durante uma sess\u00e3o na C\u00e2mara dos Vereadores e aprovada como mo\u00e7\u00e3o entre os pol\u00edticos canoenses.<\/p>\n

Discentes, docentes e a comunidade vivem um futuro de incertezas. Camila Nemos \u00e9 estudante do 7\u00b0 semestre de Matem\u00e1tica e teme pelo fechamento do IF Canoas: “Fico frustrada com toda essa situa\u00e7\u00e3o. Estamos no ano da nossa forma\u00e7\u00e3o, um passo de nos tornarmos professores. S\u00e3o tr\u00eas anos de dedica\u00e7\u00e3o longa e integral.
